This course is designed for food safety supervisors to understand the requirements around handling food safely and have the relevant skills and knowledge to supervise other staff to safely handle food in their roles. At the end of the course, they will learn how to best manage Work Health and Safety in the kitchen, restaurant and ensure strict procedures are in place so that all food served is safe to eat.
Course Delivery and Assessment
Students must attend 16 hours face to face-to-face training ( for two units) and complete 24 hours
of supervised study. There are minimum of two assessments each, which include knowledge
questions and practical observation.
Entry Requirement
Minimum Age Requirement:
Students must be at least 18 years of age and have completed the equivalent of Year 10.
Minimum English Language Requirement:
- have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. Students will need to achieve ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course.
Minimum Academic Requirement:
Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs

Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning
All applicants can apply for credit transfer of units that they have already been issued with from another RTO. Additionally, they may wish to apply for recognition of prior learning gained form their past formal and informal learning pathway from other training, work or life experience.
